DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute workshop will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 10AM – 11:30AM at Frist Presbyterian Church in Beaver, PA (252 College Ave., Beaver, PA 15009). This workshop is designed to provide support staff, friends, and family with information on how to recognize and respond to suicide risk. It also focuses on reducing access to lethal means, especially firearms. Participants learn how to talk with someone who may be having thoughts of suicide in a collaborative, nonjudgmental, and supportive manner. \nWorkshop Participants will learn:\n\nBasic facts and misconceptions about suicide, common risk factors and warning signs, and the importance of means safety in keeping at-risk individuals safe\nHow to ask about mood and suicide\nHow to proivde support to at-risk individuals\nHow to make the environment safer for an at-risk individual until mood improves. \n\nRSVP by calling/texting Liz at 412.992.1646 or emailing her at Ebottort@classcommunity.org.\nLearn more at www.calmamerica.org. \n \n
