Alcohol Awareness Lunch & Learn: History On Tap – The Origins and Impact of Alcohol Use

This session explores the historical roots of alcohol consumption, from early fermented beverages in the Stone Age to the modern culture of beer, wine, spirits, and ready-to-drink cocktails. Participants will learn how alcohol has influenced societies, traditions, and public health across generations. Understanding the history of alcohol use helps provide context for today’s conversations about responsible use, prevention, and awareness.

In this session, participants will explore how alcohol use exists on a spectrum - from casual or moderate drinking to misuse and alcohol dependence. The presentation will review common warning signs, risk factors, and the ways alcohol can begin to impact health, relationships, and daily life. By increasing awareness of these distinctions, individuals and communities can better recognize when support may be needed.

Autism Acceptance Walk With Beaver County

Join Beaver County System of Care for our Autism Acceptance Walk on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 12PM–2PM at Brady’s Run Outdoor Walking Trail. This community-centered event is dedicated to promoting acceptance, fostering inclusion, and celebrating the meaningful contributions of individuals with autism in Beaver County. Attendees can enjoy live music by Band Together Pittsburgh, free Kona Ice, therapy dogs, and a variety of local resources and activities for families. Together, we can build a more understanding, supportive, and inclusive community - not just during this event, but every day.
